Veneers

A dental veneer or facet is a kind of very thin shell of porcelain or ceramic which fits over the front of the anterior teeth.

A facet is indicated when the front teeth are deformed, damaged, cracked or discolored. It can also close a space between two teeth or hide a small teeth overlap.

Unlike the crown that strengthens the tooth, a veneer plays more an esthetic role. That said, a tooth that has undergone significant damage, or has extensive fillings is not a candidate for a veneer, and another solution like a crown should be considered.
